Mr. King accepted the appointment as President of the College of St. Thomas More in August of 2010. He spent ten years at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, where he was Assistant Professor of Finance and Chair of the School of Business. At Benedictine College, he developed and gained approval for five new academic programs, including three new Bachelor’s Degrees and two new Master’s Degrees, chaired a self-study committee for reaccreditation, and served on the Assessment Committee of the Liberal Arts program.
His scholarly interests include Church Social Doctrine, Church teaching on economics, and the origin and nature of money. Prior to a career in academics, Mr. King was a principal in several start-up business ventures and a small investment banking firm, and worked for two years in the United States Senate as professional staff on the Commerce Committee. He has degrees from Benedictine College (Bachelor of Arts), Fort Hays State University, Kansas (Master of Science), Thunderbird School of Global Management (MBA), and the University of Missouri – Kansas City (Juris Doctor). He and his wife, Christie, have four children.
