Presentation for the Cause of Fr. John Hardon, S.J.

Rev. Robert McDermott, Postulator for the Cause of Fr. John Hardon, S.J.

On November 15, the Postulator Rev. Robert T. McDermott will be giving a presentation at the College of Saint Thomas More on the ongoing process for the cause of canonization for Rev. John Hardon. Fr. McDermott will elaborate on the details involved in postulating for a proposed saint and the specific details of the life of Fr. Hardon.

Fr. John Hardon was a Jesuit priest and a prominent member of his community. He was known for his academic rigor and wrote extensively on religion and theology. He was a major contributor to Catholic newspapers and magazines nationwide. Known for his holiness and his spiritual contributions, his cause for canonization has been forwarded by notable clergy including His Eminence Raymond Leo Burke.

Father McDermott is a native of Woodhaven New York. His educational background includes a B.A. degree in Philosophy from St. Charles University in Philadelphia, an M.Div. degree from St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, WI and a M.A. Degree in Catholic Doctrine from St. Johns University in Jamaica, New York, where he was a student of Father Hardon.
